Every year, native trees sprout naturally in yards across Prince George's County. These trees are givers of life — they provide clean air, filter pollutants from our water, and support hundreds of species of animals that each have a role to play in our environment. Although these trees are often healthy and attractive, they may grow in places where they are unwanted. Rather than have them be discarded, Sembrar gives those trees a second chance at life. We collect them, nurture them in our nursery, and then plant them in neighborhoods where clean air, clean water, and green space are needed most.

Cada año, árboles nativos brotan de forma natural en los jardines de todo el condado de Prince George. Estos árboles son fuente de vida —  proporcionan aire puro, filtran los contaminantes del agua y sustentan a cientos de especies de animales que desempeña un parte en nuestro medio ambiente. Si bien estos árboles suelen ser sanos y atractivos, a veces crecen en lugares donde no son deseados. En lugar de desecharlos, Sembrar les da una segunda oportunidad. Los recolectamos, los cuidamos en nuestro vivero y luego los plantamos en barrios donde el aire puro, el agua limpia y los espacios verdes son más necesarios.

We only accept native trees for donations. Native trees are ones that evolved in our region and are adapted to our soils and climate. They also have deep relationships with native wildlife that non-native trees can't replace. To the right are some common examples of native trees:

Solo aceptamos donaciones de árboles nativos. Los árboles nativos son aquellos que evolucionaron en nuestra región y están adaptados a nuestros suelos y clima.
